Dr. Ahmed Abdrabou is an Associate Professor of International and Area Studies at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver. His academic expertise and research focus on political Islam, democratization, civil-military relations, and East Asian politics. Dr. Abdrabou has held visiting professor and scholar positions at prestigious institutions, including the Free University of Berlin and the Hertie School in Germany. His recent publications: A Comparative Study of Turkey and Egypt (Routledge, 2023) and From Mohamed Ali to the Cairo Fire: Stories from Egypt’s Modern History (Dar El Shorouk, 2024). Also, Dr. Abdrabou writes a weekly column for Shorouk Newspaper in Egypt.
