Serena Bilanceri works in the Middle East as a freelance foreign correspondent for various German media outlets. In 2020, she received an IJP scholarship for the Middle East, and has since spent several months a year reporting from Jordan and, from 2023, the West Bank. She has studied in Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. Her book of feature stories from Southeast Asia, ‘Direzione sud-est’, has won several awards in Italy. A German translation is currently being prepared.
