Sophie Haesen is an interdisciplinary academic and publisher specialising in Romance languages, Middle Eastern studies, history and medicine. She founded Gamila Verlag in Basel to make literarily and historically significant texts—such as translations from Arabic, French or Latin—accessible to a wider readership.
