Omid Rezaee

Omid Rezaee is an Iranian journalist. He left his home country in 2012 after spending several months in prison for journalistic and political activities. Until the end of 2014, he reported from Iraq, mainly on the war against the so-called “Islamic State” (IS). He came to Germany in 2015 and has been writing as a freelance author for Zeit, Spiegel, Taz, Tagesspiegel and Qantara ever since. He is studying Digital Journalism at the Hamburg Media School. He also runs the website Perspektive Iran.
