Gilbert Achcar ist emeritierter Professor an der SOAS, University of London. Er wurde 1951 im Senegal geboren, wuchs im Libanon auf und lebte in Paris, Berlin und London, wo er seit 2007 ansässig ist. Zu seinen Büchern gehören „The Clash of Barbarisms“ (2002), „The Arabs and the Holocaust“ (2010), „The People Want“ (2013), „The New Cold War“ (2023) und „The Gaza Catastrophe“ (2025).
